As part of pre-festival screenings, the Slovenian Cinematheque in Ljubljana is showing films by Indian director Satyajit Ray from the 1960s and early 1970s until 10 June.

Karthik explained that he decided to depict Ray Dasan as an assistant to Satyajit Ray, rather than a Tamil filmmaker like K Balachander, to prevent others in the film from easily discovering Dasan’s true location.

Prior to Bachchanalia auction, a Satyajit Ray memorabilia auction was also organised and collectors came in huge numbers to bid for the items.
